Painting is what the mind sees through the lens of the eye and photography is what the camera sees through its own lens. The camera has no perception and does not understand the relationship between different elements in the frame. The human mind is different. We see and relate what we see to our understanding. And our understanding itself is related to our upbringing, education, culture, storytelling tradition, our literature and life itself.
I have always felt that when we see, the human eye is capable of seeing many frames and perceiving it exactly as it is in Nature. My paintings reflect the complete depth of a picture as seen by the eye. The peacock, the tiger, the leopard, the elephant… they are all beautiful.
Over the years I have constantly endeavored and trained myself to produce the most realistic images of wild life that are increasingly sought after by discerning collectors and genuine wildlife aficionados.

My love for capturing the wildlife on a canvas started as a boy when I used venture into the forest to assist my father paint sign boards at the Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary. Having spent most of my formative years in the wild, my love for wildlife was complemented with my acute sense of observation.

Even my Post Graduate Degree in Commerce did not divert me from my love for capturing the essence of wildlife and www.shaktiwildlifeart.com is an indicator to that.

Photography

Although I am primarily an artist, there are certain situations that are best left to photography where no level of artistic perception and creativity can do justice to the speed, agility and ferocity that stays only for a fraction of a second. Such situations are only to be captured in a photograph. As a self taught photographer with the perceptions of an artist, my images capture moments in ways that a human eye would perceive.

I live where my heart lies: in Gundlupet, a small town  very near to Bandipur National Park.
